You will stay two days in the nature reserve
In the rice fields you can see the cow herons, egrets as well as black-billed kingfishers.

In PERINET and MANTADIA you will surely have the opportunity to see maned ibis , hammerheads, gray-throated rails and vasa parrots.

It goes on over the high plateau, past great rice terraces. At some
ponds and rivers you will see red-billed ducks, black-billed fisher, sandpiper, and Madagascar snipe.

The next stage is the National Park of RANOMAFANA and ENVIRONMENT.

This national park is home to many lemurs and other mammals. It is also the area to observe endemic bird species.
The list is long, there are about more than 100 bird species here.
The rare black-headed vanga or the olive-bellied newtonia, are just some of the wondrous birds that are most likely to be encountered here.

Continuing south along the access road to RN7, we reach the Isalo Mountains.

During the hike Benson’s Robin, Madagascar Hoopoe, Rusty-bellied Newtonian can be seen.

Continuation of the trip via Tuléar to Ifaty. During the trip there is a possibility to see Madagascar Sparrowhawk and , the Lizard Goshawk, Red-eyed Green Pigeons or the Magpie Vanga.

The morning walk will take you to the Baobab Forest. We are in search of the Long-tailed Roller, Sickle-winged Wren, and Madagascar Bush Warbler. Afterwards we will visit a small salt lake to observe Madagascar plovers.

Near Tuléar is the St Augustin Bay and we drive from there to the limestone table mountain to look for the red-shouldered vanga, newly discovered a few years ago, and the broad-crested silky cuckoo.

Silky Cuckoo. In the afternoon on the way back we visit the arboretum of Antsokay. The variety of plants and birds alone is worth a visit.

The last stage of the trip is the crossing to Anakao.
We make an excursion to the island of Ve, home of the red-billed tropicbird “Paille en Queue”.

We also recommend the extension in Fort-Dauphin and in the Ampijoroa area.
